In the United States of the 1930s, the young members of the Future Farmers of America (FFA) were given a jacket that became a legend: corduroy, a gold emblem on the chest and the name of the state and the chapter chain-stitched across the back. It became a symbol of work, belonging and rural pride, and an everlasting icon of American workwear.

Vintage reference for the Rider Corduroy Jacket

The Rider Corduroy Jacket is our tribute to that piece. 100% cotton 11-wale corduroy, dense and soft, with an antique brass YKK zipper, a notched collar and a hem that adjusts with metal buckles on the sides. The high-density embroidery ('Vintage Clothes' on the chest, the crest over the heart and 'TEXAS · WICHITA FALLS RIDER' across the back) brings back the quaint charm of the original.

Cropped and slightly fitted, the vintage way: it zips up over a t-shirt or a sweatshirt and also looks right open, with the layer underneath showing. Navy, Burgundy or Black: three readings of the same legend.

Emblem and lettering in high-density embroidery, a vintage inner label and a brass YKK zipper: the details that hold the piece together.

Adjustable hem

Brass buckles on the sides adjust the hem and mark the waist, the functional signature of the work jackets of that era.

Cropped, slightly fitted cut, in the vintage standard. The Label column is the US chest number printed on the garment. The zipper does not go all the way up to the neck; that is part of the original design. Between two sizes, or to wear it over a sweatshirt, go with the larger one.

Care

  • Hand wash or delicate cycle, cold water
  • Do not bleach
  • Dry flat, in the shade
  • Iron on low, inside out; avoid ironing over the embroidery
