Dock Sherpa Vest

Before it became a fashion piece, the deck vest was a work tool. The US Navy issued a fur-lined N-1 vest so the men could take the cutting cold of the sea without losing mobility in the arms. The Dock Vest is born from that simple, accurate idea: warm the torso, free the arms, last for years.

The shell is dense cotton, with the dry hand of workwear. Inside, a sherpa lining (synthetic pile, fluffy and soft) that really holds the heat. It is not animal wool: it is sherpa, which warms just as well and neither weighs you down nor mats with use.

Open, the sherpa lining shows covering the whole body, and the military-style inner label signs the piece.

The detail that gives away its origin is the pair of slash pockets, cut on the diagonal, the signature of deck vests. It closes with a zipper, with a V-neck that leaves room for the collar of a shirt or a sweatshirt to show.

It is the layering piece that was missing: over a flannel shirt, a knit or even a t-shirt on a dry winter day. The vest is the link between workwear and tailoring; it warms without hiding what is underneath.

The slash pocket, cut on the diagonal: the hand goes in at its natural angle, and the design comes straight from the original deck vest.

Size chart

The sizes below were set by the real measurements of the garment and checked in a fitting. Since it is a layering piece, between two sizes go with the larger one.
