Lucky Catch Pocket Tin

The sardine can is one of the best designed objects there is and almost nobody notices. Rounded shape to fit the hand, two color label because the harbor print shop could not do more than that, and a row of fish that crossed a century without needing a redesign.

This tin takes that graphic and puts it on a pocket object. It is 2.2 by 1.8 in (5.5 by 4.6 cm) of chrome finished metal, with a hinge and a spring clasp. Inside, two compartments separated by a divider and a mirror in the lid.

What you keep inside is your business. It is sold as a pill case and works well for that. It also works for earrings, guitar picks, pins, parking coins, memory cards and that screw you kept without knowing where it came from.

Inside

The center divider runs end to end and is not removable, so the two sides always stay separate. The lid is mirrored inside, which settles checking your teeth after lunch.

The real size

It is smaller than the catalog photo makes it look. Closed, it fits in the palm of the hand and disappears in a pants pocket without printing. The back is textured metal, no print.

Care

• Wipe inside and out with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
• Do not wash under running water and do not soak, so water does not get into the hinge.
• Avoid abrasive products on the lid. The print is surface level and scratches.
